Owusu Bempah’s Woes Deepen As Court Denies Him Bail

An Accra Circuit Court has denied the founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah bail after he was picked up on Sunday in the middle of church service.

Reverend Owusu Bempah stands accused of assaulting and injuring police officers deployed to cause their arrest.

He had been seen in a viral video with men wielding and brandishing weapons at the house of one Patricia Asiedu, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.

The controversial clergy was arraigned before the court by the Accra Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service after he was picked up on Sunday, September 12.

The court presided over by Her Honour Afia Owusuwaa Appiah remanded Reverend Owusu Bempah into police custody and is to reappear on Monday, September 20.

Social media, on Friday, September 10, was washed with images and videos of Reverend Owusu Bempah and his boys at the residence of Agradaa after some back and forth the two have been having on Facebook.

Despite their readiness to face Agradaa, some members of her household advised her to stay out of sight. The incident attracted the presence of Ghana Police who later restored calmness to the area.

Reverend Owusu Bempah, in a new video, explained that he indeed went over to Agradaa’s house after she threatened to deal with him spiritually and crush him.

so I availed myself physically for her to do what she wants because I was eager to see what she would do because I haven’t seen anything like that before,” he said on his return to his church premises.
