Josephine Panyin Mensah Simons, the lady at the center of the Takoradi kidnapping saga has reportedly confessed to a team of medical and investigation officers attending to her at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital that she was not pregnant.
According to Takoradi based Empire FM, a top police source revealed the information.
The police source, according to Empire News further revealed that Josephine has since asked for forgiveness from her husband, Michael Simons who, all along, believed that his wife was pregnant and is still shocked by his wife’s latest revelation.
According to the police source, Josephine has not had sexual intercourse with her husband for the past 3-4 months on the pretext that she could lose her unborn baby.
However, according to Empire News, a senior medical officer at the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital revealed that Josephine might have been suffering from Pseudocyesis.
Pseudocyesis is a false belief of being pregnant that is associated with objective signs and reported symptoms of pregnancy, which may include abdominal enlargement, reduced menstrual flow, amenorrhea, subjective sensation of fetal movement, nausea, breast engorgement and secretions, and labor.
Earlier, Management of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in the Western Region said it has not released medical records of Josephine to the police.
